Overview
In liquid facelift, injectables are used to fill wrinkles and add volume to the face for a younger, more refreshed look. These injectables include dermal fillers and botulinum (botox) injections.
Introduction
As you age, your skin loses its elasticity. It begins to sag. The first place this shows is on your face. The sagging skin creates a haggard and tired face. A lot of time, the face also hollows out, particularly on the cheeks. Age lines and wrinkles show up, which add to creating the much older look.
Some people want a fast solution to this rather than undergoing a facelift. It is for these people that Dr Abizer Kapadia uses liquid facelift.
What Is Liquid Facelift?
A liquid facelift involves injecting dermal fillers into the skin to plump up the skin. It differs from a surgical facelift in that it doesn’t involve cutting into the skin. The goal of a liquid facelift is to reduce sagging and wrinkles.
It can help in plump up lips, reduce hallow areas under eyes, tighten the wrinkles.
Who Is An Ideal Candidate For Liquid Facelift?
- Your facial skin has significantly loosened with age.
- The fat that once gave you full cheeks has travelled down, making your cheeks look hollow.
- You have a lot of age lines and wrinkles.
- You want to rejuvenate your face quickly and easily.

What Are The Types Of Liquid Facelift?
There are primarily two types of liquid facelift:
- Botox
- Dermal Fillers
Both are injectables and make a face look very youthful. The key here is never to overdo. You need a surgeon who is competent, board-certified and knows precisely how much to inject for the best results.
How Liquid Facelift Is Performed?
Botox:
One of the prime reasons for age lines and wrinkles is facial muscle movement. With 42 muscles continually working to create new expressions, it is no surprise that they get tired and stretched. So how does Botox help?
Botox is another name for Botulinum Toxin A. This a purified derivative from bacteria that temporarily relaxes the muscles. This relaxation makes the age lines and wrinkles disappear. Botox also prevents the formation of new age lines.
Being an injectable makes the entire procedure very comfortable. Botox takes effect within 72 hours after injection and lasts for about six months. The results look very nice and natural.

Dermal Fillers:
Dermal fillers add volume to the face through injections. These injections may contain an array of materials such as autologous fat, calcium hydroxyapatite, collagen, hyaluronic acid and polylactic acid. Of these, autologous fat and hyaluronic acid are the most popular because they deliver the most natural-looking results.
Of these, if autologous fat is not available, hyaluronic is the overwhelming favourite filler. This is because it is naturally present in the lower layers of skin. Therefore, it is very safe and has no immunogenic potential. It is also naturally degraded by the body’s processes over time.
Dermal fillers achieve the goal of rejuvenation. They add volume to the face, which makes the skin tighten. This automatically makes you look younger. Within 30 minutes, your lines and wrinkles are filled. These results can last anywhere from 6 months to a year.
