Different Procedures For Browlift/Forehead lift
Forehead lift or Browlift Dubai is a 1-2 hour procedure. The incision will depends on the aesthetic goals of the patient. It is usually done under general anaesthesia or intravenous sedation. It can be performed through endoscopic incision or coronal incision.
- Endoscopic Incision: An incision is made within the hairline. Through the incision, an endoscope (a thin tube attached with a camera and light) is inserted to view the underlying muscles and tissues. Another special instrument is inserted that allows the tissue and muscle beneath the skin to be corrected to reduce the visible creases and give a lifted look. The incision is then sutured.
- Coronal Incision: An incision is made from ear to ear across the top of the head within the hairline. Through this incision, the forehead skin is lifted to its new position by overlapping the scalp in front of the incision on the scalp behind it. The excess scalp is removed and the remaining is sutured back using removable or absorbable sutures, surgical tape or stapler.
- Hairline Incision: In some cases, when the patient has a very high hairline or thin hair, an incision is made at the anterior hairline through which the surgeon will remove a small amount of skin and tissue from top of the forehead instead of the scalp. This ensures that the brows can be lifted without altering the height of the front hairline. This kind of scar although somewhat visible but can be hidden well with bangs or hairstyle.
A rapid non- surgical way of performing Browlift is to do Thread Lift (Golden Threads). Barbed multi-directional threads are inserted in the soft tissues to lift the sagging area for rejuvenation. It is a minimally invasive and quick procedure with hardly any downtime.
A browlift or forehead lift procedure can be done in combination with other cosmetic facial surgeries such as blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery) or a facelift/ neck lift.
How Is Recovery After Browlift/Forehead lift Surgery?
The patients might experience minimal bruising, but it will subside in a few days. It is advised to keep the head elevated. Any strenuous physical activities must be avoided for 4-6 weeks or until advised by the surgeon.
